He was also the founder of Methods of Mayhem, a rap metal band. Lee has also pursued solo musical projects. Lee is an avid PETA supporter and a strong advocate for the rights of animals. Lee has written Terry Prather, SeaWorld's president to express his displeasure over Tilikum's treatment. Lee believes that the animal should be released and explained that SeaWorld did not agree as Tilikum is their main donor of sperm. Lee stated that he was shocked at SeaWorld's complicated and ill-conceived methods to obtain Tilikum sperm. Lee said he was trying to stop tragedies such as trainers' deaths as this was the result of the whales' inability be held captive.
