AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is an attacking player. She is also the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional soccer for women. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained the US women's national soccer team together with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years older, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 123rd minute during the semifinal game against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and provide 20 assists within the same calendar year and becoming the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
